Green Energy Neighborhoods for the Bansko Region

The Green Energy Neighborhoods for the Bansko Region project supports the development of energy communities in the Bansko region by actively engaging citizens, local authorities, small businesses, and civil society in the transition towards clean, affordable, and locally produced energy.

The project focuses on community participation, social innovation, and the practical deployment of renewable energy solutions tailored to the specific context of a tourism-driven region with seasonal energy demand and increased vulnerability to energy costs.

By combining pilot initiatives, local capacity building, and knowledge sharing, GREEN-COM Bansko aims to establish a replicable and sustainable model for energy communities that can be transferred to other tourism-dependent and mountainous regions in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe.
