Specialized Training on Energy Efficiency and Building Stock Renovation
On December 6th, 7th, and 8th, a specialized training on energy efficiency and building stock renovation took place, organized jointly with the Bulgarian School of Politics "Dimitry Panitza" and Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect. The participants included local government representatives from various regions of Bulgaria, including the Deputy Mayor of Ruse, the Mayor of Dulovo, the Mayor of the Primorski District in Varna, and representatives from Burgas, Plovdiv, Bansko, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, and Sofia Municipality.
The training covered a variety of topics, including Bulgaria’s experience in building renovation and the results from national energy efficiency programs, as well as European policies on energy efficiency in buildings. New requirements for energy renovation, the role of municipalities in this process, and funding opportunities through various instruments, including the National Decarbonization Fund and ESCO schemes, were also discussed.
The focus was on building stock renovation as a key tool for sustainable development in our municipalities and for ensuring a better living environment.
The program highlighted the importance of collaboration between local authorities and other stakeholders for the successful implementation of energy efficiency and sustainable development policies.
