On May 9, 2025, the Annual Meeting of Bulgarian Energy Agencies and Centers took place in Sofia under the theme “The Energy Transition Beyond Formalities”. The event was organized by the Association of Bulgarian Energy Agencies with the active participation of EnEffect, SOFENA, Energy Agency of Plovdiv, Black Sea Energy Research Centre, Regional Energy Agency - Pazardzhik, Energy Center Sofia, and others.

Together with experts from across the country, key topics were discussed, including:

• The Smart Readiness Indicator for buildings and its integration into renovation policies
• Energy communities and their potential to transform local energy systems
• Training for professionals in energy efficiency and renewable energy
• Tools to support local authorities and tackle energy poverty

The team of the Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect contributed actively to the discussions with presentations on:

• The new CEN working agreement for assessing the Smart Readiness Indicator
• Building renovation roadmaps and their connection to Energy Performance Certificates
• Energy communities in multi-family buildings and local policies for air quality improvement
• The use of virtual reality in training materials.
