AdaptationHubs – National Multilevel Governance Adaptation Hubs
The AdaptationHubs project supports the implementation of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change by establishing and strengthening National Multilevel Governance Adaptation Hubs (NAHs) across all EU Member States.
The project is coordinated by REGEA and implemented by a broad European consortium of organisations with strong expertise in climate policy, adaptation, and multilevel governance. Key partners include FEDARENE, ICLEI Europe, Climate Alliance, EIT Climate-KIC, among others. The consortium brings together national partners from all EU Member States, ensuring strong territorial coverage and policy relevance.
In Bulgaria, the project is implemented by EnEffect, acting as a national partner and responsible for coordinating and organising the activities of the Bulgarian National Adaptation Hub. The Hub aims to strengthen dialogue and coordination across national, regional, and local levels, engaging public authorities, local and regional governments, experts, civil society organisations, and financial institutions.
The Bulgarian National Adaptation Hub is conceived as a flexible, non-institutionalised platform rather than a new formal body. It builds on existing multilevel dialogue structures, including those developed under the NECPlatform, ensuring continuity, inclusiveness, and policy relevance regardless of short-term political changes.
